Random pics

A few random pics from the last week.

I just can't resist that sweet grin! (And every baby looks especially cute in bib overalls.)
Laundry baby! I set Jacob in an empty laundry basket while I switch the washer & dryer. Naomi gets a big kick out of it.Naomi loves to carry her stool to the bathroom sink and wash her hands or brush her teeth. It's mostly an excuse to play in the water, but she generally only turns it on to barely a drip so I let her. The novelty will probably wear off....
Every few days Naomi will ask to put money in the piggy banks. So I'll find a handful of change and take the banks down off the shelf, and she'll distribute the coins between the three of them (hers, Jacob's, and Sam's & mine).

New Favorite Toy

Jacob has a new favorite toy. Yes, it's an empty cardboard box. He keeps coming back to it, day after day.
This morning I was trying to get his attention while he was playing. He'd look at me for a second, then go back to the box. I was obviously an unwelcome distraction. Finally, he moved on and could spare time to smile for me.Oh, and books are good, too.New this week, Jacob is sitting up unsupported. Yay! He has always preferred standing to sitting, so there were times I figured he'd walk before he learned to sit on his own.

Our Little Photographer

Naomi has decided she would rather be behind the camera than in front of it. So now when I download pictures, I see lots of shots like this.

Mamaw & Papaw from her perspective (she had a little help taking these two).

Baking Bread

Naomi loves to cook! The other day, she helped Grandma make bread.

Kneading.
And, of course, sampling. I remember when I was young, we always ate snitches of the bread dough :)

And eating her own little loaf.

All About Jacob

I realized my recent posts were mostly about Naomi, so this one is starring Jacob.

He was very excited to start solid foods and loves eating. If I'm not sharing and he thinks I should, he'll smack his lips and give me a look that clearly says "I'm ready for a bite now." No one could accuse this kid of missing a meal!

One of his favorite things to do with Dad is play with the pull chain to the ceiling fan.

He loves playing in his jumper!

He rolls very proficiently from his back to his stomach. He can roll back the other way, but he's more likely to get frustrated and lay with his face in the carpet crying until I pick him up. We're working on teaching him to sit up by himself, but he'd always rather be standing!

He thinks Naomi is the most interesting person in the world. He's always turning to watch what she's doing and not miss out on any of the fun.

It's getting impossible to keep socks on him. He'll pull them off to chew on. I'll regularly realize he's wearing just one and have to retrace our steps to find where he dropped the other one. He also likes playing with my water bottle.

Jacob's a very happy baby, almost always smiling and laughing. One of his favorite games it to try to bite my finger (he has 6 teeth now) and then giggle when I tell him no. Or if I'm not paying attention and he's successful, he'll giggle even more when I say "ow!"

We sure love our Little Dude!
