I Love My Mommy
After this week, I'm especially grateful for my mom. I'm still amazed that she volunteered to come and live with us for a couple of years to help take care of me and my family. She's been here for a week now and I don't know how I managed this long without her. She's helped cook and clean, and spent hours playing with the kids. (They're loving having someone here with the energy to give them attention again!) Already I'm more relaxed, more well rested, and eating better. And all of that is better for the babies!
Happy Birthday Naomi
This post is a week late but... I'm grateful for Naomi. All my life, all I ever wanted to be was a mom. With Naomi I finally got that blessing - and it's been even greater than I ever imagined. It's so much fun watching her mature and learn and develop. And she's done a lot of that in the last couple of months! She's such a sweet, willing helper. And she's very creative and imaginative - I love to sit and listen to her play. She loves books and to read; she has many memorized that she will "read" to Jacob or her dolls. Naomi is such a joy in my life and I couldn't imagine our family without her!

Food Glorious Food
This week, I'm grateful that I like to cook. Not to say that I always bounce into the kitchen full of smiles and enthusiasm (especially right now since dinner preparations tend to interfere with my afternoon nap) but overall I really enjoy the process of cooking. And sitting down to a home cooked meal with my family is one of my greatest joys. Feeding my family is very soul-satisfying for me; it's a very tangible, concrete way I'm fulfilling my responsibility to care for my husband and kids. And then there's the yumminess of freshly baked treats - nothing compares to that!
And I'm grateful for my husband who appreciates my cooking and doesn't take those home cooked meals for granted :)

Gratitude Fridays
This year, I'm going to try regular Friday posts with something I'm particularly grateful for from the week. (I hope to get some catch up photos posted soon, too.)
This week, top of the list would have to be my mother-in-law. She came to visit for the week and has worked her tail off getting us moved from the apartment to our new house. We certainly couldn't have done it without her! And the one afternoon we told her to relax and take a break from moving, she offered to watch both kids so Sam could come to my doctor's appointment with me.I'm also extremely grateful for my amazing husband, who worked right alongside his mom all week, doing the lifting and carrying. They both really did all they could to keep me from doing too much with this move. I surely do appreciate them!
And, of course, I'm grateful for our house.
